Brand story

An average consumer throws away 70 pounds (31.75 kilograms) of clothing per year. Globally we produce 13 million tons of textile waste each year 95% of which could be reused or recycled. In addition to all this, the fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world. At Mix Thread, we want to change this. By taking in unwanted clothes that were supposed to be thrown away, instead, give them a new life.

 

Mission and Vision

Our mission is to turn clothing pieces that seem “uncool” to previous owners into a new life by reworking them to be “cool” again.

Mix Thread strives to reduce overall textile waste in Singapore's fashion industry through our one-of-a-kind apparel and for every individual to embrace their uniqueness through our clothes. There will never be more than one of the same design as each piece is patched together with different parts of fabric. With our pieces being sustainably produced, we aim to create an opportunity for our customers to appreciate Mother Nature a little more through every reworked fabric.
